Introduction
Jamil Packaging Corp. from Indiana, North America is looking for a logo for its Web-to-print box packaging website. They print high-end promotional boxes, packaging, and displays and their site is where people can design their boxes and packaging online and buy them.
Goal
The client wants a cool logo of a Donkey with black sunglasses on, a hat on backward, etc. The logo must convey to the customer, that the site is innovative, and hip and they can create their own "Badass Designs" on it.
Creates a unique style since there are many mascot logos of a donkey in the market. I am challenged by the typography since it must complement the mascot and tell the personality of the site. The client also had a hard time expressing what he wants to change in the first versions.
The Outcome
I made a masculine style illustration, symmetrical, and made it simpler to make the logo more pleasing to the eye and tell the site's personality. Compared to the first drafts, I modified the glasses and the donkey's expression for it to communicate effectively. In terms of the text mark, I added grunge effects to make it more BADASS and use negative space to show their service (box packaging). I also proposed one-color versions of the logo to show the variety and uniqueness of the logo.
